Strategy Evaluation and Improvement Recommendations: Measuring the effectiveness of the organizational strategy, it's extremely important to conduct a SWOT analysis to figure out the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (both internal and external) of the entity in question. This may require taking certain precautionary measures or even to change the entire strategy. We offer a business assessment that provides you with concrete information on how the key areas of your business are functioning. You will learn about strengths, weaknesses and opportunities for change. We will provide you with specific recommendations about where to put your resources and energy so that you can truly realize your intentions.

M.I.D.L. (SEIR) uses seven categories from http://www.quality.nist.gov/ to assist companies and organizations in assessing their business improvement needs and in meeting their business improvement goals. Both the private and public sectors use this process.

Below are the Seven categories:

Leadership - Examines how senior executives guide the organization and how the organization addresses its responsibilities to the public and practices good citizenship.

Strategic planning - Examines how the organization sets strategic directions and how it determines key action plans.

Customer and market focus - Examines how the organization determines requirements and expectations of customers and markets; builds relationships with customers; and acquires, satisfies, and retains customers.

Measurement, analysis, and knowledge management - Examines the management, effective use, analysis, and improvement of data and information to support key organization processes and the organization’s performance management system.

Workforce focus - Examines how the organization enables its workforce to develop its full potential and how the workforce is aligned with the organization’s objectives.

Process management - Examines aspects of how key production/delivery and support processes are designed, managed, and improved.

Results - Examines the organization’s performance and improvement in its key business areas: customer satisfaction, financial and marketplace performance, human resources, supplier and partner performance, operational performance, and governance and social responsibility. The category also examines how the organization performs relative to competitors.

The criteria are used by thousands of organizations of all kinds for self-assessment and training and as a tool to develop performance and business processes.

M.I.D.L. tailors a question set for all seven categories to fit each specific company.  This process entails using the organizations language and omitting or adding questions to fit each individual company.

Process:

  • We start with a discussion to determine what is going on with your company and how an assessment may assist you in your change efforts.  We will have you complete a company worksheet (a short questionaire) which will provide us with the parameters for the survey
  • Then we will prepare a recommendation for the sample size, question set and data collection methods to be used
  • We will conduct all interviews, review relevant documentation, and increase our own understanding of how your company currently works
  • Then we prepare a detailed Assessment Report which highlights the strengths, weaknesses and opportunities for improvement
  • We will also provide a detailed in depth set of recommendations for long term improvement
